The Stainless Hunter is the flagship knife of the Fehr Forgeworks collection, custom designed by owner Graeson Fehr to be the ideal knife to work in any scenario. Furthermore, with some of the higher end details I put into this blade, this piece makes for an excellent gift.
Each blade is made from 440C stainless steel which is known for its toughness and superior corrosion resistance. This steel Is commonly used in many larger stainless steel blades which is because of its toughness and springiness which isn’t as common in stainless steels. The blade has a hollow ground edge which makes for an extremely sharp cutting edge, lending well to skinning, fleshing, and deboning, and is finished with a satin mirror polish, which shows a satin finish when looking directly at the blade, or a mirror finish from an angle. This process is something I have developed in house, and is my favourite blade finish for a high end piece.
The knife is 5/32’ thick which puts the weight into the handle which has been designed for a medium to larger hand, and features brass pins and handle liners, with a brass lanyard tube. The full tang blade features a high polish all around, with the tang featuring the mirror polish reflected in the blade. We offer several handle material options, such as Deer Antler, Ebony, or Manitoba Maple Burl.
Each knife comes standard with a hand tooled and stitched leather sheath with a low profile belt loop.
