Damascus EDC Knife with Blue Maple Burl Handle
Damascus EDC Knife with Blue Maple Burl Handle
As its name indicates, this blade is designed for Every Day Carry, but also excels at skinning and utility tasks, as it features a high grade Damascus Steel blade, manufactured entirely in Canada from 150 layers of 15N20 and 1095 Steel by bladesmith Graeson Fehr.
This knife has a full flat grind and fine edge for detail work. Furthermore, the unique handle is made from Manitoba Maple, sourced from a tree near Selkirk MB. The blue colour comes from the stabilizing process, where a blue resin is drawn into the core of the handle with use of a vacuum, which preserves the wood and also brings out different grain of the wood. The pins are polished stainless and the liners are black G10, complementing the black and white blade.
The knife comes with a black kydex sheath with adjustable belt clip. Although the Damascus steel will help protect against rust well by itself, a light coat of mineral or gun oil is recommended for storage to maintain the full luster of the pattern. Any light surface rust can be removed with sunshine cloth or 3000 grit sandpaper.
