Damascus Auxiliary V2 Manitoba Maple Burl
Damascus Auxiliary V2 Manitoba Maple Burl
Crafted in Winnipeg, Canada, this medium-sized, all-purpose hunting knife boasts a stunning 250-layer ladder pattern, composed of 1095 and 15N20 high carbon steel. This blade has been meticulously hand-forged and polished by bladesmith Graeson Fehr to reveal a beautiful pattern, making it a unique addition to any collection.
One of my favourite woods is Manitoba Maple Burl, which I use in a lot of my work, and the ends of the burl where the bark attaches often has some of the nicest figure, however its difficult to feature. In this handle I used those pieces of the burl, connected with a Blue Exopoxy casting holding it all together. The handle is complemented with blue G10 liners, framing the handle with a pop of blue colour.
The Damascus Auxiliary V2 comes with a hand-tooled leather sheath that includes a low profile belt loop. Despite the larger size blade, it can also be carried in a pocket. This knife is ideal for hunting and skinning, thanks to its superior Carbon Damascus steel which offers excellent edge retention. However, it requires a bit more care, such as wiping the blade dry after use and adding mineral oil to prevent rust. In case rust or oxide forms, simply use some included 3000 Grit sandpaper or sunshine cloth to remove it.
